Vera, inspired by the Spanish word Verdad, celebrates the beauty of authenticity and embraces the genuine.

Our story

Founded in 2019 by Fernanda Arias García, our brand is an exploration of beauty in process, time, and tradition. Through a collection of handcrafted clothing, signature jewelry, and artisanal objects, we collaborate with talented Mexican artisans to merge ancestral techniques with timeless design.

Each piece is the result of meticulous craftsmanship, infused with history, sensitivity, and deep respect for the trade. We move away from fleeting trends to create objects with soul—pieces that transcend time and honor Mexico’s rich cultural heritage.

We value small-scale production, where quality prevails over quantity, and each creation becomes a living testament to the hands that shaped it. Through textiles, metals, and noble materials, we weave stories that intertwine with collective memory, reclaiming the significance of handmade craftsmanship in a world driven by immediacy.

More than fashion, our essence lies in the act of preserving, sharing, and celebrating our country’s cultural heritage. We believe in a more conscious and meaningful way of dressing and living—one that invites connection with our roots and the art of craftsmanship done well.

We are a bridge between traditional craftsmanship and the international contemporary design market. Through garments, objects, and jewelry we seek to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our artisans and their communities.

MEET FERNANDA

Hi! I'm Fernanda Arias, founder and creative director of Vera Colectivo. I was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, and I have a background in design and art direction. From a young age, I felt a deep admiration for Mexican craftsmanship and everything it represents: identity, memory, and a living connection to our roots.

Vera was born in a moment of change. During the pandemic, I moved to Sayulita, Nayarit, with some of the pieces I had already been working on. I shipped them to myself, rented a 1960s van that I turned into a pop-up store, and parked it near the beach. From there, I began to see how people stopped, looked, asked questions, got excited… and I realized I was on the right path. Sometimes, you just have to go for it fearlessly.

To me, Mexican craftsmanship is a living legacy, deeply rooted in identity, memory, and meaning. Promoting it goes far beyond aesthetics; it’s about helping keep these techniques economically viable and culturally relevant, so they can continue for generations to come. Through close collaborations with artisans across the country, we’ve built not only a brand, but also lasting bonds of friendship and a strong sense of community, driven by mutual respect and deep admiration for their incredible work. More than a brand, Vera is a collective with soul. To me, Mexican design is bold, versatile, and constantly evolving. Sharing it with the world is not just my passion—it’s my purpose.

We are the essence of an artisanal Mexico, seeking to go further through those who collect moments they’ll carry with them forever.
